Aug 29,2023 | Tim

Chances are that you may fail to scan the eSIM QR in some cases such as a camera scanning problem, unclear QR code image, or even failure to receive a QR code owing to mailbox blocking or recognized as a spam letter scan and the like. So, this useful and practical article is presented to help you cope with failure scanning.

"This Code Is No Longer Valid" Error

When you are trying to add an eSIM that has been added before, or the QR code was partially scanned due to poor connection, this error message appears.

To check whether the eSIM has been installed or not, PLS follow the steps as below:

  • Go to " Settings">>

  • Go to " General">>

  • Tap " About" and scroll down>>

*You should be able to view the ICCID(a cluster of codes) if the eSIM is installed and turned on, as long as the eSIM line is set to " On" in your Cellular Plans.

*In case the eSIM has been removed and you try to reinstall it, please note that it will not be possible.

*If you are installing the eSIM for the first time, this error message could be caused by a poor connection, VPN enabled, or too many eSIMs installed on the device.

So before installing the QR code, PLS have a check whether you have followed these steps:

  • Disable any VPN>>

  • Ensure that you have a good and stable internet connection>>

  • Remove any eSIMs you will no longer use>>

  • Check if the software is updated to the latest version>>

If it still doesn't work, PLS try to enter the Activation code and SM-DP+ Address code manually to install the eSIM(if the sent message doesn't enclose with them, contact the service provider to get one)
