1、What devices support eSIM?
You can check if your smartphone is eSIM compatible here.
2、When can I install my eSIM?

Most eSIMs will only activate at the destination once they connect to a supported network or any of the supported networks.

On the other hand, there are eSIMs that will activate instantly as soon as they are installed, regardless of the location.

The activation policy will be either as follows

  • “The validity period starts when the eSIM connects to any supported network(s)”: This means that you can install the eSIM before traveling without activating it. Once you arrive at the destination you can connect by turning on your eSIM line as long as the setup has been completed as advised on your eSIM installation page.
  • “The validity period starts at the installation”: This means that your eSIM will activate instantly once installed, and hence, the validity period will start to run although you are not yet at the destination.

3、How do I set up the eSIM on my device?

After your purchase, we will send a QR code to your email. Either print the QR code or open it on your computer. 

Don't set up your eSIM too early. eSIMs have a limited number of days attached to each data plan. Don't start the plan too soon or it won't last for your trip.We recommend setting up the data plan the same day that you travel.

On your cell phone, go to Settings > Mobile Data > Add Data Plan and scan the QR code. Your phone will allow you to assign a specific name to this data plan. The Bytesim data plan will only be operational once you arrive at your destination. Once you land, turn on data roaming on your cell phone settings and activate the Bytesim data plan. You will now be able to switch between your Bytesim data plan and the original plan from your provider.  Consult your phone’s user manual for more details on adding a data plan. 

4、How long should I wait for eSIM to ship after payment?

Because our system needs to check your order, and it takes a certain amount of time to prepare the QR code.

If you purchase the plan on the day of the destination or the next day, the plan will be sent to your email address within 2 hours after the order is placed.

If you purchase 2 days or more in advance, we will send it to you in advance one day in advance.

5、Can I have multiple phones scan a same QR code?
Sorry you cannot. When you use your phone to scan the QR code for the first time, the binding has been established, and other phones cannot no longer scan and use the QR code. In addition, One QR code cannot be scanned multiple times, and the scan will not work if the number of scans exceeds the limits.
6、I’m experiencing the “This code is no longer valid” error

This error message appears when you are trying to add an eSIM that has been added before, or the QR-code was partially scanned due to poor connection.

In order to confirm whether the eSIM has been installed or not, please proceed as below:

Go to Settings,Go to General,Tap About and scroll down.

If the eSIM is installed and turned on you should be able to view the ICCID [NUMBER] + an extra digit as long as the eSIM line is “On” under your Cellular Plans.

Please note that in case the eSIM has been removed and you attempt to reinstall it, it will not be possible!

On the other hand, if you are installing the eSIM for the first time, this error message could be due to a poor connection, VPN enabled, or too many eSIMs installed on the device.

 

Please follow the steps below to install your eSIM successfully:

6.1.Disable any VPN

6.2.Ensure that you have a good and stable internet connection

6.3.Remove any eSIMs you will no longer use

6.4.Check if the software is updated to the latest version

6.5.Try to install an eSIM through an installation method different than before

7、How fast is the network speed?
5G/4G/LTE service is available in most countries. You can check the network support on the details page of each data package.
8、Should I switch on Data Roaming when using eSIM?
Yes. Please make sure that Data Roaming is on. Please go to "setting"-"Cellular" and turn on "Data Roaming" . Please also remember to turn it off after use.
9、Will my physical SIM still work while eSIM is installed?
The eSIM plan does not affect the physical card usage.
10、Are voice call and SMS services included?
You can check the plan type on the details page of each data package,If the plan type is data only, it means that voice calls and text messages are not included.
11、Can I renew or extend the data on my eSIM?
At the moment, you cannot renew the data on your eSIM. However, you can purchase another eSIM if you need more data.
12、If I lost my eSIM QR code, what can I do?
Please register to become our user, you can resend the QR code to your mailbox by order.
13、How to remove the Bytesim eSIM after use?
There is no need to delete the eSIM once you have finished using it. However, if you wanted to, you can do this by going to your phone’s SIM card manager.
14、May I know how to check the balance of remaining data?
You can check your data balance directly in your device's data settings or through our Android or iOS app for self-service. Alternatively, our support team is available 24/7 via email or WhatsApp to assist you with your remaining data usage
15、How do I get a refund?
The eSIM is a digital product. Bytesim cannot check if you have used the data plan associated with the eSIM card. Therefore, once your eSIM is delivered, we cannot offer a refund. For more information, please see our returns policy.
