Frequently Asked Questions About eSIM-Compatible Devices
1) How do I know if my device is eSIM compatible?
Check our list or on your device: Settings → Cellular/Mobile Data → Add eSIM. If you see “Add eSIM / Add mobile plan,” your phone/tablet supports eSIM.
- iPhone: Settings → Cellular → Add eSIM
- Android (Samsung/Pixel etc.): Settings → Connections/Network → SIM manager → Add eSIM
2) Is the Samsung Galaxy S10 compatible with eSIM?
Usually no. eSIM is widely supported from the Galaxy S20 series and newer (region/CSC may vary). Always check Settings → SIM manager → Add eSIM.
3) Does the iPhone X support eSIM?
No. eSIM started with iPhone XR / iPhone XS (2018). Earlier iPhones are not supported.
4) Is the Huawei P40 Pro+ compatible with eSIM?
No. P40 and P40 Pro support eSIM in select regions; the P40 Pro+ does not.
5*) Are iPhones from China mainland, Hong Kong, or Macao compatible?
Mainland China
Only iPhone Air supports eSIM in China mainland (model A3518). All other iPhone models (incl. iPhone 17 series) sold in China mainland are dual-nano-SIM (no eSIM).
Hong Kong & Macao
• Many locally sold models are dual-nano-SIM (no eSIM).
• eSIM is supported on the following HK/MO models (as of Sep 2025): iPhone Air; iPhone 17 / 17 Pro / 17 Pro Max; iPhone 16e; iPhone XS; iPhone 12 mini; iPhone 13 mini; iPhone SE (2nd/3rd gen).
How to check on your device
Go to Settings → Cellular (or Mobile Service) → Add eSIM.
• If you see “Add eSIM”, your device/config supports eSIM.
• If you don’t see it, that device/region likely does not support eSIM.
Tip: eSIM availability depends on sales region / model number and carrier support. For travel eSIMs, the iPhone must be unlocked and eSIM-capable.
6) Can I use an eSIM and a physical SIM on iPhone at the same time?
Yes. eSIM-capable iPhones support Dual SIM. From the iPhone 13 series onward, you can even use two eSIMs active simultaneously (no physical SIM required).
7) Are iPhone 15 / 15 Plus / 15 Pro / 15 Pro Max compatible with eSIM?
Yes. The entire iPhone 15 lineup supports eSIM.
8) Can I switch eSIM carriers anytime on eSIM-enabled devices?
Yes. You can add, change, or delete eSIM profiles at any time. Note that some carriers lock the profile after activation—remove it before switching plans.
