If you're unable to use your iPhone as a hotspot, it’s often due to roaming not being enabled. However, other factors could be causing the issue. Here are some common reasons and solutions:
Network Settings Issues:
- Reset Network Settings: Go to Settings > General > Transfer or Reset iPhone> Reset > Reset Network Settings (Refer to the images below). This will clear all Wi-Fi passwords, VPN settings, etc.
- Check Carrier Settings: Ensure your APN settings are correct. In the ByteSIM app (Navigate to My eSIM -> Install -> Manual) or “Installation Instructions for this eSIM” in your received email, you can find the APN settings corresponding to the specific product.
After clicking "Installation Instructions for this eSIM”, you'll see this page. Choose your phone model.
Navigate to Manual. Scroll down and you'll see APN
- Toggle Airplane Mode: Turn on Airplane Mode for a few seconds, then turn it off. This can sometimes resolve connection issues.
Device Issues:
- Restart Your iPhone: This simple fix can resolve many minor issues.
- Update iOS: Make sure your iPhone is running the latest iOS version, which may include bug fixes and performance improvements.
Software Conflicts:
- Close Unnecessary Apps: Some apps may interfere with the hotspot function. Try closing background apps to see if this resolves the issue.
Other Settings:
- Enable "Allow Others to Join": Go to Settings > Personal Hotspot and ensure this option is turned on.
- Check Wi-Fi Password: Make sure you’ve entered the correct password, paying attention to case sensitivity.
- Try Another Device: Connect another device to your hotspot to rule out device-specific issues.
Additional Tips:
- Check Signal Strength: Ensure you have a strong mobile network signal.
- Avoid Interference: Keep your iPhone away from other wireless devices to prevent signal interference.
- Use 2.4GHz Band: If available, set your hotspot to the 2.4GHz band for better compatibility.
If you continue to experience issues, consult your carrier or device support for further assistance.
