Set up your ByteSIM eSIM

Install your eSIM before you travel, then connect on arrival. Follow the steps for your device below. Activation timing depends on your plan, so check your order details.

Check your phone

Make sure your phone supports eSIM, is unlocked and is on stable Wi-Fi.

Set your ByteSIM line for data and switch on roaming (no extra charge from us).

Choose your device

Select iPhone or Android, then follow the installation method that matches your ByteSIM setup.

Before you start: your phone should support eSIM, be carrier-unlocked and connected to stable Wi-Fi. Check compatible devices

iPhone eSIM Setup

Automatic

Install automatically on iPhone

Open the install page in your ByteSIM App, confirm the prompt, then complete the iPhone setup.

Your iPhone may show extra setup prompts, such as line label, default line or mobile data. Follow the on-screen instructions. You can change these settings later.
QR Code

Install with your ByteSIM QR code

Open Mobile Service or Cellular settings, add a new eSIM, then scan the QR code shown in your ByteSIM App.

Your iPhone may show extra setup prompts after scanning. Follow the on-screen instructions. You can change these settings later.
Manual

Install with manual details

If QR scanning is unavailable, you can enter the installation details manually from your ByteSIM App.

1 Open manual setupGo to Settings > Cellular or Mobile Service, then tap Add eSIM.
2 Copy the details from ByteSIMChoose Enter Details Manually, then copy the SM-DP+ Address and Activation Code from your ByteSIM App.
3 Finish the iPhone setupFollow the on-screen prompts to complete installation. You can adjust line settings later.
Manual setup is only needed if Automatic installation or QR code scanning is not available. Copy the details exactly as shown.

Android eSIM Setup

Automatic

Install automatically on Android

Tap Install eSIM in your ByteSIM App. Android may show setup prompts before installing your eSIM.

Android setup screens may vary by brand, model and system version. Follow the on-screen instructions if the wording looks different.

When does my ByteSIM eSIM start?

Most plans start only after your eSIM connects at your destination.

Activation start

Install before you travel. Start when you arrive.

For most ByteSIM plans, installing the eSIM does not start your plan. Your plan starts when the eSIM first connects to a supported network in the covered destination.

Install Arrive Connect Plan starts
Install anytime You can install your eSIM before departure while connected to stable Wi-Fi.
Starts on arrival Most plans start when your eSIM first connects to a local network in the covered area.
Check plan details Some plans start on a selected date or require activation in the ByteSIM App. Follow the activation note on your order.
Tip: Keep your ByteSIM eSIM turned off until you arrive if you do not want it to connect early.

When you arrive, turn on your ByteSIM eSIM, enable data roaming and set it as your mobile data line.
